At SilverGraphics, we know art matters. It influences intellectual development. It stimulates creativity. It inspires and moves us in unexplainable ways.
Our studio walls are filled with artwork… our own, our kids, our customers. It makes us happy and reminds us why we do what we do. Our products are a canvas for student artwork, a way for parents to enjoy and cherish their childrens’ art every day. I don’t know about you, but I love collecting my kids’ art. The problem is, it’s hidden in a large bin in my basement. But now, I see it every day, on my coffee mug in the morning, on my cutting board in the kitchen, on my office mousepad, on my keychain, and more.
- The arts document history, culture and accumulated wisdom. That’s why I cringe when artifacts are destroyed or pilfered.
- A language for all people, the arts cut through individual differences. No words necessary when you feel moved by a work of art, a brilliant cellist, a mountain range.
- Art can bring subjects to life and abstractions to reality. In my former career, as a corporate trainer, I designed models and symbols to represent concepts. This is often what participants most remembered. A picture is worth a thousand words . . .
- Research shows that art improves academic achievement. And I think its therapeutic benefits are significant. When I was going through a tough time, drawing helped revitalize my spirit. It became a creative expression and joy.
How about you? How do you experience art?
With dwindling art budgets and schools with no art programs at all, we felt compelled to do our part. That’s why we send a portion of our proceeds to The Dreaming Zebra Foundation every year. By providing art and music materials free of charge to schools and community organizations, the Dreaming Zebra Foundation is instrumental in increasing access to the benefits of art and music education for thousands of children across the country.
